Here's How:
Begin with thoroughly chilled cream.
Chill mixing bowl and beaters.
Whip the cream on medium speed.
Add sugar (2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup granulated) and any flavorings while whipping cream.
Cream is whipped when soft peaks form.
For vanilla-flavored whipped cream, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
For a chocolate flavor add 2 tablespoons cocoa with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
For coffee-flavored cream add 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules and 2 tablespoons sugar.
One teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of your favorite liquor and liqueur flavors work as well.
Tips:
Use cream that has either a 36 to 40 percent milk-fat content (heavy cream) or 30 to 36 percent (light whipping cream).
Don't over-whip the cream. It turns to butter.
Sweeten whipped cream to taste, and depending on what it accompanies. How to make liquid cream to thick cream?
Hi Shikh Jain.
Here is the suggestion.
1) Heat your liquid normally not much.
2) Dissolve a little of the corn or tapioca starch in a water to make a paste
3) Add this to liquid which is made hot.and stir the paste into the hot liquid.See that liquid is on slow gas.
4) Stir constantly until it thickens-about a minute after it starts to bubble. Stir constantly so it doesn't stick to the pan or get jammed .
You can thicken any liquid, such as fruit juice of any type etc. with cornstarch or tapioca starch-,
Wish you good success- chimanlal Jain. I am also jain.
Hi,
1) Use a tablespoon and beat the cream for few minutes. It will get thick on its own.
2) As you want to use your cream as a cake icing, Keep it in fridge for few minutes.
You can refer following cake icing recipes:

all you have to do is whip the cream till it becomes as stiff as you need it, and since it is topping for a cake it shouldn't be too stiff, you should whip the cream till it stands in soft peaks...you may use an electric mixer for this it definitely makes life easier.
just put some fruits
