How old is your ice freezer? Maybe it's old, or there is something wrong with the motor. And if you have to put your ice cream maker in the freezer, maybe your freezer ist too crowded, that lowers the temps in there. Try it again, maybe it was just a fluke. If not, you might have to buy a new machine.
Any chance you doubled the sugar? Of spilled some salt into the ice cream? Had a leak in the old freezer can?
