Nothing toxic about nitrogen. In fact in addition to making really cool tiny little ice cream balls, nitrogen is an inert gas used in all sorts of food packaging such as chips, coffee, snack mix, etc. Nitrogen gas displaces the oxygen in food packaging preventing oxidation of the the product and keeping it fresher longer-that;s how you get long shelf lives. This gas used in most every type of dry goods packaging is essentially the same nitrogen used to make Dippin Dots just in a different form.
No, you must understand that the liguiod nitrogen is not on the ice cream when you buy it - all that is there is normal ice cream.
No, liquid nitrogen is not toxic, and neither are Dippin' Dots. Heck, they use liquid nitrogen to freeze human eggs, sperm and embryos all the time! Enjoy your Dippin' Dots.
